A Message from the Division Head of Malignant Hematology, Gwynivere Davies
The Division of Malignant Hematology is responsible for the evaluation, treatment and extensive care of patients with a variety of blood-related diseases. Situated in the Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre, division members provide one of the largest malignant hematology services in the province, including recently expanded autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplant programs.
he division offers opportunities for learners at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level, as well as one-two year clinical research fellowships in focused areas. Division members are active in clinical research, such as clinical trials, and in health services and outcomes research. There are significant opportunities for translational research through collaboration with laboratory based cancer researchers at McMaster. Division members hold leadership roles at Cancer Care Ontario in the design and evaluation of provincial hematology services, as well as leading and participating in practice guideline development in the Cancer Care Ontario (CCO) Program in Evidence Based Care.
