Dr. Ghazaleh Kazemi and Dr. Aly-Khan Lalani Recipients of the CAMO 2023 Awards
Congratulations to Dr. Ghazaleh Kazemi and Dr. Aly-Khan Lalani! Recipients of the Canadian Association of Medical Oncologists (CAMO) 2023 Awards.
Dr. Aly-Khan Lalani is the CAMO 2023 Rising Star Award Recipient. Dr. Aly-Khan Lalani is an assistant professor in the Department of Oncology at McMaster University and medical oncologist at the Juravinski Cancer Centre, where he specializes in the treatment of genitourinary malignancies and sarcomas. He is a well-recognized content expert in the treatment of genitourinary malignancies. Dr. Lalani has demonstrated a strong track record in research early in his academic career with 35 publications, 12 as first author. Dr. Lalani was the recipient of the prestigious 2022 Canadian Cancer Trials Group (CCTG) Dr. Elizabeth Eisenhauer Early Drug Development Young Investigator Award.

Dr. Ghazaleh Kazemi is the CAMO 2023 Volunteer of the Year Award Recipient. The Volunteer of the Year Award recognizes an individual who has distinguished themselves in their service to our professional organization: exemplified CAMO’s core values of inclusion, collaboration, respect, integrity and compassion, and whose work has benefited CAMO members and the oncology community. Dr. Kazemi has been chairing the CAMO continuing professional development (CPD) committee since 2017 and has spent many hours working with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada to help CAMO become an accredited provider.
