Welcome Dr. Shivani Dadwal, Medical Oncologist

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Shivani Dadwal to the Department of Oncology in the Division of Medical Oncology at the rank of Assistant Professor, effective January 1, 2025.
Dr. Dadwal earned her MD at McMaster University (2015). She completed her Internal Medicine residency (2018) and Medical Oncology residency training (2020) at McMaster University. She went on to complete a two-year Fellowship in gastrointestinal malignancies at McMaster University (2022) and a Master of Health Professions Education at Maastricht University (2023). Dr. Dadwal has been working as a full-time academic medical oncologist at Kingston General Hospital and as an Assistant Professor at Queen’s University.
Dr. Dadwal has been involved in the re-design of the medical oncology curriculum at Queen’s University with the goal of enhancing educational programming. Her Master’s thesis on equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) has inspired work in assessments and curriculum design and will bring very welcomed expertise to our post graduate programs. It is anticipated that she will contribute significantly to educational scholarship within the Department of Oncology and improving the trainee experience. To further develop her skills, she has applied to the ASCO Education Scholars Program to collaborate with global oncology educators.
Dr. Dadwal has been quite involved in clinical research with a focus on gastrointestinal clinical trials and is expected to take on the roles of site principal investigator or sub-investigator on numerous clinical trials at McMaster University. Dr. Dadwal’s clinical practice will include the treatment of gastrointestinal and gynecologic malignancies at the Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre.
She will be actively engaged in educational activities, including the supervision of residents, clinical research fellows, undergrad medical learners and in competency-based medical education.
